  1. After the highly conceptual Nude, came The Single Factor, which was a return to the more commercial type efforts Camel made in the late seventies. However, while those albums were patchy at best, this one really hits the mark. 'No Easy Answer' is a very weak overly poppy opener, but don't be fooled, the album really gets into it's stride after /5(36).
  2. The Single Factor is a decent mixture of 80's new wave and progressive rock. Some of the tracks are nice examples of fine progressive pop (Heroes and Sasquatch), but filler brings the whole thing down, sadly. Still, I found this album pretty entertaining.

  7. Following the ambitious song cycle Nude, Camel attempted their version of an Alan Parsons Project album with The Single smartaronacarsetzvascrededfisemfi.xyzinfoering that Parsons was having hits that year with songs like "Eye in the Sky," it's not surprising that Camel tried to capture the same audience, yet their talent didn't lay with pop music -- it lay with atmospheric instrumentals and creating detailed soundscapes.
