Coming off of 's well-received Augment, which saw the band embark on an Olympian bout of touring alongside like-minded decibel-pushers like August Burns Red, Born of Osiris, and TesseracT, Drift offers up another punishing set of progressive metalcore.

  6. Drift’s songs are coherent and sound like one piece of musical thought. Perhaps the best part of Drift is it makes you forget Erra is a metal band. Almost all of the songs have a naive sweetness to them, an innocence and honesty that shows that makes the numerous emotional moments on this album .

  7. Apr 20,  · The album’s title track is probably the strongest cut from this, however, and is backed almost flawlessly with Erra’s new-found affinity for entrancing tapping riffs. Drift is never offensive and it’s never amateur. It’s just way too goddamn benign. Erra – Drift gets /5.

  8. This is Erra's most original album to date. The clean vocals are still a bit too close to Periphery but that can't be helped. The riffing and the writing are the genius of this album, particularly on the title track. has had a lot of great album releases and this one stands pretty strong among them/5(66).
