  1. Dec 02,  · I like their previous effort together, Dance Hall at Louse Point. I picked my copy of a Woman up at Target the first week of release. Just listening to it now, for a second time through. Kind of off-topic but for some reason I've always wondered what kind of collaboration Prince and PJ Harvey would create together.
  2. Dance Hall at Louse Point is in no way a strict duplication of Parish and Harvey's prior work together on To Bring You My Love. Listeners more appreciative of Harvey's earlier work will relish the songstress' squeals, whispers, and howls over jangling atonal guitar figures and blues motifs that recall Dry and Rid of Me. 6. On Dance Hall at Louse Point, Parish wrote and played the music, while Harvey sang vocals and wrote the lyrics. The album was viewed by many of Harvey's fans as a minor side project, perhaps due to the top billing accorded the more obscure Parish and her own accreditation as Polly Jean Harvey rather than the more widely recognised PJ Harvey name.
  7. Jan 02,  · Their first album together, Dance Hall At Louse Point (), was credited to John Parish & Polly Jean Harvey. Released a year after her critical & commercial breakthrough, To Bring You My Love, that billing gives me the sense that she wanted to be more incognito here, but once you hear her voice there’s no doubt that she’s in complete command.
  8. Dance Hall at Louse Point () Billed as John Parish& Polly Jean Harvey Girl, Rope Bridge Crossing, City of No Sun, That Was My Veil, Urn with Dead Flowers in a Drained Pool, Civil War Correspondent, Taut, Un Cercle Autour du Soleil, Heela, Is That All There Is?, Dance Hall at Louse Point.
  9. Lyrically on Dance Hall at Louse Point, Harvey picks up where she left off on To Bring You My Love — more cryptic fables like scenes from a foreign film. I wish they had subtitles. Harvey still.
